Built in 1850, this elegant Georgian house, overlooking the cricket green in the charming village of Parkend, invites you to relax and unwind at the heart of the Royal Forest of Dean. Once the home of Bill Tandy, author of 'A Doctor in the Forest', the house has been tastefully restored to provide a comfortable haven in an area of outstanding natural beauty and history. Edale House is ideally located for a country break; adjacent to the RSPB Nagshead bird reserve and accessible to the many miles of cycle paths within the Forest of Dean. Furthermore you can visit the historic village of Parkend.
The local shop sells all the main newspapers however, if you would like a newspaper delivered during your stay please let the staff know and they will arrange for it to be delivered to you each morning. An ordnance survey map is available if required, please ask if you would like to use one if walking locally. A wet room is available as you come in the front door of Edale House. Please use it for wet walking clothing and boots. There are also large umbrellas for your use if required. Bicycles can be safely stored in this room also. An iron and ironing board are available on request, and a trouser press is available on the top floor, adjacent to Room 5. Please ask if you require the telephone book or yellow pages. The house also has the business cards of local taxi firms
